FAQ

What is Summit?
Summit is an annual week-long conference focused on issues of entrepreneurship in the Silicon Valley, the Asia-Pacific and beyond. Its goal is to equip its participants with the knowledge and skills needed to refine tomorrow’s business models as well as to foster an international network of entrepreneurs. Through company visits, distinguished speaker panels, and workshops, delegates are exposed to a variety of perspectives and hear from experienced industry leaders, thereby gaining valuable insight in becoming and remaining successful in the global environment.

Where and when will the Summit be held?
Summit 2007 will be held at Stanford University in Stanford, California (USA), from Sunday April 8, 2007 to Saturday April 14, 2007.

Who can attend?
Students who are interested in entrepreneurship in the Silicon Valley and the Asia-Pacific are encouraged to apply to attend Summit 2007.

When do I have to apply by?
Applications are due by Monday, November 20, 2006. Late applications will NOT be accepted.

What is the application process?
Please submit the web-based application found on this site. Your application will then be reviewed and evaluated by the committee. We will select delegates on the basis of their leadership experience and potential, and their interest and achievements in entrepreneurial endeavors.

Why is the application process so early?
Not only do we want time to prepare the Summit with enough time to make it great for the delegates, but we also want to give everyone time to figure out travel plans and Visa issues.

When can I expect to know whether or not I have been accepted?
The Summit Team aims to inform applicants of their status within 3-4 weeks of their application submission. We will, however, inform all applicants who have applied of their status by the end of December 2006.

Can ASES cover our fees?
Currently, ASES delegates find ways to pay for their trip themselves, whether through school sponsorship, corporate donation or out of pocket. Our organization is exploring finding funding to help a select number of delegates make it to the Summit. When we do have that to offer, there will be another more rigorous application process. We will let you know, but do not count on it yet.
